Friends of Alaska CASA is holding its 15th Annual Silent Quilt Auction on Saturday, November 20, 2010, at the University Center Mall, 3800 Old Seward Highway, in Anchorage. Preview of and bidding on over 150 quilts will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with bidding closing at 2 p.m.
Once again, we have an incredibly gorgeous raffle quilt that can be yours! Becky Rudisill, quilter extraordinaire, made this year’s queen-size treasure, “Elegant Logs,” and Sharon Berna did a breathtaking job on machine quilting this stunningly beautiful quilt. A photograph of the quilt is shown below. Raffle tickets are $5 each or 5 tickets for $20, and can be purchased from Friends of Alaska CASA Board Members and also from the Alaska CASA Program staff. Tickets will also be sold the day of the auction, with the winning ticket to be drawn at 2:45. The winning raffle ticket holder does not need to be present to win.
Completed quilts of any size and any theme will be gratefully accepted. The deadline for submitting a quilt is Saturday, November 6, 2010, at 12:00 noon. Quilts can be dropped off in Anchorage at The Quilt Tree or Seams Like Home; in Eagle River at Dina’s Cozy Cabin Quilts; in Palmer at Just Sew; and in Wasilla at Sylvia’s Quilt Depot. The Data Form, which must accompany all quilt donations, will be available at the quilt stores in early October, or you may access the form on the following link.
